Support My Training as a Death Doula
Donation protected
My name is Rebecca, and I have dedicated my adult life to Human Services, with the last 17 years spent in Long Term Geriatric Care. Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting many residents as they approached the end of their lives. I have often been told that I have the right temperament for this work, and I consider it a profound honor to help someone have as meaningful a dying process as possible. My goal is to ensure that no one has to face death alone, and that both individuals and their loved ones feel supported and cared for during this important transition.
I am now seeking to deepen my skills and knowledge by completing the End-of-Life Doula training through the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA). The cost of this education is significant, and I am asking for help to cover the tuition so I can continue to serve those in need. With this training, I will be able to offer specialized support to residents at my current facility who are entering the dying process. In the future, I hope to work with Hospice or independently, helping people and their families create the most peaceful and individually supported end-of-life experience possible. I believe that everyone deserves to approach death without fear, and I want to be there to help make that a reality.
This work is deeply personal to me. I am currently supporting a resident who is facing a terminal diagnosis and is understandably frightened. Witnessing this has only strengthened my resolve to become a death doula. Additionally, as someone living with a form of cancer myself, I understand the importance of a good death. I see this path as my opportunity to do something truly meaningful for others at a critical time in their lives. Thank you for considering supporting my journey and helping me bring comfort and dignity to those at the end of life.
