My name is Justin Birch, I am 22 years old, and I am currently a four-year undergrad at Georgia State University, majoring in psychology with a 3.05 GPA. From May 14-28, 2026, I will be studying abroad in Namibia through a cross-cultural psychology program. Psychology is my major, and this experience allows me to study human behavior from a non-Western perspective, within real communities, cultures, and everyday life. I chose this program because it will help me better understand how culture shapes the way people think, grow, and interact, which is essential for the work I want to do in psychology moving forward. I am raising funds to help cover travel, housing, meals, and program costs.

To say more about myself, I am a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and I work directly with kids on the autism spectrum, helping them with behavioral and developmental support. Outside of school and work, I train basketball players of all ages (elementary and middle school to college players) when I get the chance. I also played college basketball for two years at Livingstone College, and I played throughout high school as well. Mental health has always been a big part of my life. In high school, I was involved in a program called Distinguished Gentlemen that focused on leadership, mental health, and personal growth. While at Livingstone College, I was part of the Psychology Club, where we hosted events, fundraisers, and meetings centered around mental health awareness. Currently, I am a member of the Black Mental Wellness mentorship program based in Washington, D.C. The organization focuses on mental health in black communities.
