In June 2025, I made an unexpected decision to pursue dance seriously, despite having no formal background. It was a difficult choice, and not an obvious one.
I left Marseille in September to train intensively in a professional dance program near Paris. Starting alongside dancers who had trained for many years, the gap was significant. The year was demanding, both artistically and materially, but it confirmed my commitment to this path.
A few months later, after three rounds of auditions, I was accepted into the Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH), a highly selective and internationally recognised institution. Given my atypical background, this feels like a rare and significant opportunity.
This is my first time entering a formal higher education program. What makes this opportunity particularly important to me is that it brings together my previous work in music, movement, and embodied practices into a coherent artistic direction.
Despite holding US and EU citizenship, as well as UK pre-settled status, I have not been eligible for public funding across Sweden, France, the US, or the UK, and some opportunities had already closed by the time I received my acceptance. I will be working alongside my studies, but this will not be sufficient to cover living costs in Stockholm.
I am not in a position to rely on financial support from my family.
I am trying to avoid taking on large private loans, which would place me in a difficult financial position immediately after graduating.
For this reason, I am asking for support to help make this year possible.
I am fully aware that there are far more urgent situations in the world, and that this is not a necessity. This is an opportunity to pursue a demanding and uncertain path, and I take responsibility for that choice. Any support is genuinely appreciated.
