Hi everyone, I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for support as my daughter bravely fights Sickle Cell Disease. Over recent weeks, she has endured an overwhelming amount of pain, repeated sickle cell crises, hospitalizations, and surgery. Watching your child suffer while feeling helpless is something no parent is ever prepared for. Despite these challenges, my daughter recently reached an incredible milestone—she just graduated high school. Even more, she has been approved for a groundbreaking gene therapy transplant known as LYFGENIA (Beti-cel). This revolutionary procedure holds the promise of transforming her life by potentially eradicating the symptoms of sickle cell disease and offering her a chance at a healthier, more vibrant future. If all goes well, she hopes to attend college in the summer of 2026 to pursue nursing—a dream she has worked tirelessly toward despite the many obstacles she’s faced.

During this critical time, I will have to step away from work for several months to remain by her side in the hospital—advocating for her care, supporting her through painful moments, and ensuring she never feels alone. As a parent, there was no other choice. Being out of work will create significant financial strain. Between everyday household bills and medical expenses related to her treatment, my greatest concern—beyond her health—is falling behind financially while trying to focus fully on her recovery.
