Hi,my name is Charlene and I am fundraising for my Sister. My Sister Jenelyn Bulandres, 51 years old and currently living in the Philippines was diagnosed last year with Amyotopic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). It's cruel and progressive disease, that ROBS people of their ability to move, talk, eat and eventually breath. There is NO CURE, no definitive cause, and for most NO HOPE. But anyone who knows my Sister, giving up has never been an option.

HER FIGHT

Last year around October, she has been experiencing numbness and weakness on her left arm, can't raise it and can't even touch her face. But these feelings, didn't stop her from doing her Job as a Teacher, so she can support her two Daughters' education. Around December, she clearly had her diagnosis after a thorough check ups from two different Hospitals. She was devastated and so are we,her whole family. So we try to help and support her the best way we can. She has been taking medication called Riluzole to slow down the progress of her disease. This medicine is so expensive that we needed to buy it in India which is way much cheaper than in the Philippines. Eventually months passed by and still her disease is still progressing faster than we expected. She had to stop Teaching which was her Passion, since she is already experiencing more twitching in her muscles, a change in her voice and later on LOST her ability to speak and eat. She has been slowly loosing weight due to not being able to eat, so we decided to let her have her surgery which is called PEG or feeding-tube (recommended by her Doctor) to prevent her body from weakening and to receive proper and enough nutrition for her body. This disease has really not been easy for her. She has had to learn how to deal with a new way of Life of course with the help of family most especially her eldest Daughter.

I decided to create this gofundme campaign to try and help ease some of this tremendous burden placed on her, and to offer her LOVE and SUPPORT just as she always has for her family, friends and community.

Our whole family are HUMBLY asking for all your support to help FUND her medications, along with the other therapies, medical equipments and the daily necessities she needs. And most importantly, please keep my Sister Jenelyn in your PRAYERS!
