My Story

I have been invited to serve as a volunteer judge at the 31st Annual Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition, hosted by American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.

This prestigious competition brings together students, professors, and legal professionals from across the Americas to debate complex human rights issues under the Inter-American human rights system. In recent years, the competition has gathered more than 450 participants from over 21 countries.

Over the years, the competition has welcomed distinguished jurists, diplomats, and academics. Among them, U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer, who has presided over the Honor Panel of the Final Round.

Serving as a judge is both an honor and an opportunity to contribute to the education of future human rights lawyers.

Travel and accommodation costs are not covered by the university, so I am raising funds to help cover the expenses required to attend the competition week in Washington, D.C.

Based on the official information provided by the competition organizers, including the recommended hotel and the duration of the event, the estimated cost of participation is approximately $3,500. This includes airfare, accommodation, local transportation, and basic expenses during the competition week.

As judges participate on a volunteer basis, these expenses must be covered personally.

Any contribution will help make this participation possible.

If you are unable to contribute, sharing this campaign with colleagues or friends who support legal education and human rights is also greatly appreciated.

Thank you for supporting the next generation of human rights advocates.
