SUPPORT MY RIDE FOR PROTECT OUR WINTERS
I recently learned that Swiss glaciers have lost 25% of their volume over the past 10 years(!) which made me feel: I need to do something right now. This autumn, I’ll be cycling the 370km Glacier Bike Tour from St. Moritz to Zermatt, where I live.
The ride covers 370 kilometers with 9,500 meters of elevation. My goal isn’t to complete it as fast as possible or break any records, but to focus on the journey itself and raise awareness about the urgent need to protect our winters. Through this journey, I aim to raise funds for Protect Our Winters, a mission driven Non-profit-organization, to support systemic change. Along the way, I plan to capture photos of the stunning glaciers that still remain, sharing their beauty and fragility to inspire action.
My name is Louise, a 30-year-old Dutch “mountain goat” with a deep passion for the outdoors. I currently live in the Swiss Alps and volunteer for Protect Our Winters – The Netherlands.

In 2026, Protect Our Winters aims to increase its impact by focusing more on policy advocacy and forming stronger partnerships with businesses, to drive systemic change and accelerate climate action, creating a larger and more lasting effect on protecting winter environments.

We inform people about the climate crisis, inspire them, and encourage action. Our focus is on educating schools, businesses, and communities about climate change, climate action, and the various solutions available.
COLLABORATION
We build strong partnerships that drive positive change for the planet. Our role is to bring together companies, European NGOs, athletes, scientists, creatives, and communities.
ACTIVISM
We empower people to participate in climate discussions and serve as a voice for those who cannot. Everyone has an active role in activism, whether they are influential athletes, businesses, or individuals.
