A year ago, I never imagined my life would change this much.

Over the past year, my lung has collapsed five separate times. What started as a terrifying medical emergency turned into months of hospital stays, surgeries, chest tubes, pain, recovery, and constant uncertainty. I’ve spent countless days and nights in hospital beds wondering when my body would finally let me heal.

Every time I started to recover, another collapse happened.

The physical pain has been exhausting, but the mental and emotional toll has been just as difficult. Missing out on normal life, losing independence, struggling to work consistently, and living with the fear that it could happen again at any moment has completely changed my life.

I’ve undergone multiple surgeries and procedures in hopes of stopping the collapses for good. Recovery has not been easy, and the medical bills, lost income, travel, medications, and ongoing expenses have quickly become overwhelming.

As hard as this journey has been, I’m refusing to let it define me.

I still believe in my future. I still believe I’ll come out stronger on the other side of this. Right now, though, I need help getting there.
