In 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. Since then, I have been living with tissue expanders and waiting for reconstructive surgery. My journey took an unexpected turn when my last surviving parent, who was also ill, relocated to live with me. Despite my own health challenges, I became their caretaker, putting my own needs aside to care for them. Sadly, my parent passed away, leaving me to navigate both grief and my ongoing health struggles on my own.
Currently, I work as a rideshare driver. My appointment with surgery was postponed because I currently do not have the funds to support myself during the surgery and recovery period. My hope is to raise enough to pay my rent for a few months and cover other essential obligations while I heal.
This entire process has been incredibly stressful, and asking for help is not easy for me. But right now, I can't do this alone. I am reaching out to my community for assistance so I can focus on healing and rebuilding my life. Any support you can offer would mean so much to me. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation.
