For much of my life, I have dedicated myself to supporting the growth and well-being of others. Over the years, I have worked across education, community engagement, public health, and nonprofit spaces with one consistent goal: to honor people’s dignity and help create pathways for growth and opportunity.
My work has included supporting unhoused families at the YWCA Family Center, serving as a Peace Corps Community Health Volunteer in Ethiopia, promoting sexual health prevention and substance use awareness through SafePoint, and creating educational and workforce opportunities for youth of all ages. Encouraging others to step outside their comfort zones and pursue their dreams has always been central to who I am.
The past few years, however, have also brought significant personal challenges, including caregiving responsibilities, the loss of my father, and stepping away from a demanding role where I poured so much of myself into serving others. Through all of this, I realized it is finally time for me to embrace the same encouragement I have so often given to others: to take chances, pursue growth, and allow myself to dream bigger.
This summer, I have the exciting opportunity to attend a fellowship program at University of Oxford — an experience that would be a meaningful step toward my long-term goal of pursuing graduate studies and expanding my work in international affairs, creativity, education, and global community impact.
I was originally preparing to pursue an International Affairs program at The New School because of its unique blend of art, culture, and global engagement. Unfortunately, the program was discontinued due to funding and political changes. While disappointing, it pushed me to seek new opportunities that align with both my professional experience and creative passions. This fellowship feels deeply aligned with that vision.
Attending this program would allow me to strengthen my academic foundation, sharpen my creative and leadership skills, connect with a global network of peers, and continue building toward work that creates meaningful and tangible impact in communities around the world.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
Program tuition: $5,000
Flight and travel expenses: approximately $1,200
The course tuition includes housing, two meals per day, networking events, and immersive programming over ten days on the Oxford campus.
Your support — whether through donating or sharing this fundraiser — would mean so much to me as I take this next step in my academic and personal journey.
There are 8 spots left and a deadline of June 1st to pay for the course for this summer 2026. If spots are filled before then and I have not hit my goal, I will be put on the waitlist and funds will be allocated for the summer 2027 courses.
Thank you for believing in me and for being part of this chapter of growth, learning, and possibility. Upon my return I will share and present my experience & written work.
