Hi everyone,

I'm Tahlia and today, my mum (Tamara) is undergoing major brain surgery to remove a golf ball-sized tumour. We are hoping it's benign, but we won't know for sure until after surgery.

She will be facing months of recovery, where she won’t be able to work or drive, and will need time and support to heal properly.

This comes after what has already been an incredibly tough few years. Two years ago, mum was involved in a freak accident where she fell down a steep embankment and had to be rescued by emergency services from a creek below. She suffered a broken back, shoulder ligament damage, and a serious head injury that required surgery. That recovery alone kept her out of work for three months.

Despite everything, she has kept pushing forward. That’s who she is — someone who never stops, always puts others first, and just gets on with things no matter how hard it is.

Earlier this year, she got engaged and is now looking forward to planning her wedding in February 2027 — something that should be a really exciting and happy time in her life.

But with another major surgery, time off work, and ongoing recovery ahead, the financial and emotional strain is building again.

We’re creating this fundraiser to help relieve some of that stress, so mum can focus fully on her recovery without the added pressure of finances. Funds raised will go towards medical expenses, daily living costs, and supporting her during the months she is unable to work.

We wouldn’t normally ask for help like this, but it’s been a few difficult years, and any support — whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page — would mean so much to our family.
