Support my Mum (Maree Wilson) in overcoming Cancer

(Written by James) - I’ve made a decision to start a fundraiser for my mum and at the same time I will be donating my hair to kids with Cancer through Variety Charity.

The reason I have decided to do this for her is because in May 2023, Mum was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain cancer, which unfortunately can not be operated on.

We found this out in a very hard way by her having multiple seizures, which resulted in a fall on the concrete, a broken hip and shoulder, and 2 months in hospital. Since then she has had some seizures and been in and out of hospital.

And over the past year we have been through ups and downs, Mum has never given up through this battle!

To see her fighting this (somehow with a smile and laughter) has given me so much strength through this horrible time.

I love my Mum with all my heart and soul and want to donate my hair to a charity to help someone who has lost their hair through cancer treatment.

Mum has always been known for her kindness, beautiful smile, positive mindset and selfless nature. I hope that this money will help her beat this disease.

The money we are raising for her will go towards alternative therapies that can help reduce tumour growth and improve her quality of life, such as:

Mum has already been through radiotherapy and chemotherapy. And now, the protocol is ongoing chemotherapy which leaves her exhausted, sick, vomiting and highly anxious for the next round. Her quality of life is pretty low and it’s difficult to see her in such an defeated state.

This is why we want to look for other treatments to help fight the cancer and give her the quality of life she deserves!
