This is not easy for me to write. I have never asked for help like this before, and honestly it feels a little shameful. But I cannot do this on my own. Florida has become hostile for people like me. As a gay man, I do not feel safe here anymore. They are stripping away rights, erasing LGBTQ history like the Orlando Pride memorial, and pushing policies that make life harder every day.

On top of that, my job situation has been a real struggle. The economy is brutal right now and despite applying constantly, I rarely even hear back. Most of the time I get told they are going forward with other candidates. I even had to sell my car just to stay afloat. I do have another GoFundMe related to a legal fight against my former employer, Sedgwick, but that campaign is only for legal costs. This fundraiser is separate and focused only on raising what I need to safely move out of Florida.

I want to move to California, a place where I can feel safe, be myself, and start building a future. It is not just me. I also have two cats to take care of, and moving across the country is expensive and stressful. Anyone who has done it knows how much it takes.

I understand money is tight for everyone. Even $5 or $10 makes a huge difference, and if you cannot donate, just sharing this would mean the world to me. If enough people pitch in a little, I can make this move possible.

Right now, I am paying $930 in rent each month here in Florida. That is money that drains away when I should be preparing for this move. I need to raise funds quickly so I can stop pouring money into a place where I am not safe and finally take the next step.
