My mother has always been a hard worker, dedicating her life to providing for her three children. As her oldest child, I’ve witnessed firsthand how much she’s sacrificed for us. Recently, her health took a sudden turn. The day before her birthday, she began to swell in her belly and feet, feeling discomfort and fatigue. We missed celebrating her birthday because she was too weak. By March 2nd, she was admitted to the ER, and that night she was transferred to another hospital. She never came home. For two weeks, she stayed in the hospital, waiting for answers. At first, she seemed to improve, and we hoped she’d be released soon. But suddenly, she became weak, unresponsive, and confused. She couldn’t feed herself, walk, or even use the restroom.. she was released and the next day we took her back to the ER where we were told her liver wasn’t responding to any medication.. they helped us set up her in home hospice care which began Saturday March 21st.. All our family cared and loved her until the very end… my mom passed Monday March 23rd surrounded by her children, siblings,cousins, nieces and nephews…

Her passing has changed everything for our family. My younger sister, who has Down syndrome, now depends on me for care. My mother has always done it all on her own, from working to provide, and doing the chores and labor around our home and lawn.. she would even do her own car maintenance.. she was a remarkable woman/mother. She was strong and amazing.
