Support My Mother-In-Law After A Serious Car Accident

Donation protected

On Monday morning, my husband’s mom was in a horrible car accident just a couple of miles from her home. She was on her way to work, like she always does, and in one second, everything changed. She now has a fracture in her neck, a burst and compound fracture in her spine, and broken ribs on both sides of her body. She’s in a c-collar for at least 6 to 8 weeks and will be having surgery to place screws in her back to help stabilize her spine to give it a chance to heal.

She works at a hospital cleaning and preparing the operating rooms. She may not be the one performing the surgery, but what she does makes it possible. She’s part of the care team that doesn’t get seen or praised, but she shows up every single day and gives her all to help others. Now she’s the one who needs care.

My husband is a paramedic. He’s used to being the one who helps, the one who stays calm when everything is falling apart. He’s seen strangers through some of the worst moments of their lives. But nothing prepares you to see your own mother like this. To stand at her bedside and feel completely helpless. This time, it’s his family. His mom. And there’s no training that makes that easier.

His mom is the kind of person who keeps going no matter what. She doesn't ask for much. She’s quiet, steady, dependable. The kind of person who will sit with you through your worst days without needing to say a word. She has held her family together through so much with love that doesn’t need to be loud to be strong.

We’re asking for help so she can focus on healing without the stress of how the bills are going to get paid while she’s out of work. That’s what this is for. To give her peace of mind, to give her time, and to give something back to a woman who has given so much of herself to others.

If you’ve ever had someone in your life who made you feel safe just by being there, you know what kind of woman she is. If you’ve ever loved a mom or been loved by one, you understand what this means to us.

Please help if you can. Whether it’s donating, sharing, or saying a prayer, it all makes a difference. We are deeply grateful for your kindness.

Thank you for helping us lift her up.
