It’s a long story, but I will try to keep it short. Back in December, my mom was unexpectedly unable to stand or walk. After being in the hospital, she was sent to rehab because they thought therapy might help. It did not. She finally got a diagnosis of a compressed nerve in her low back, which is causing her weakness and inability to stand or walk. However, Medicare has stopped paying for her therapy, and Medicaid did not cover all of the cost of her staying at a facility, so she owes what is called Patient Liability. Due to her having to pay, we don’t have enough to cover the cost of mortgage, utilities, etc. every month. I can help with some but not all of it. Our goal is get her to be able to walk again, enough to get her home, however, we are still unsure of how long this process will take. We are hoping maybe just another month or so, but it depends on how her therapy continues to go. That being said, we are really financially strapped and are not sure how we will continue to pay the mortgage and utilities, etc. So if you are able to, please consider donating.
