Hi, my name is Cheyenne Simmonds. My twin brother Cody, little sister Jasmine and I are creating this fundraiser in support of our amazing mother who is currently facing a very difficult chapter in her life.

You may or may not know my mom has been handicapped my entire life. She carries herself with grace, and resilience even through troubling times. To me, she will always be the strong and capable mother that can overcome anything. Although I have never been able to see her run, play sports, or be highly active in my life, her spirit is lively and her energy is so positivity contagious she brightens a room with other full with joy. She has always been my number one cheerleader growing up and I’m lucky to call her my mom.

Unfortunately, over the last few years, her life has quite literally been flipped upside down in regards to her health and financial situation. Although she still carries herself with so much positivity, she is truly hurting.

To give you a little background, when my mom was a teenager, she was in a serious car accident that would change her life forever. She spent a year and half of her teenage years in the hospital, and has returned over 20 times for reconstructive surgery. Watching my mom be in an out of the hospital was normal for me, and as we both get older I realize how much of a toll this has truly had on our lives, but has also shaped who we are. I thank her for showing us that we can get through anything.

In the last three years, there has been countless hospital visits as well as at home needed care.

Never did I imagine we would be in the situation where I need to reach out to others for support, but here we are. Until the end of time, I will do anything and everything in my ability to be there for my mom. We are at a point where my resources are being exhausted and the level care needed for her recovery is much more than any of us can take on right now. All we can do is ask for help.

A couple of days ago she was admitted to the ICU with Sepsis from infections that is taking over her leg. She has been battling to keep healthy, but It seems inevitable that all the reconstruction, and other health complications would make a comeback… I just didn’t expect it to be this serious or this soon.

I am writing this across the room from my mom right now. She’s in the hospital bed connected to IV’s and doctors keep coming and going. The sadness and stress she is enduring is unbearable and the outcome of this hospital visit will truly change her life, once again.

With enough care, funds, and prayers, she will get through this. And to be transparent, it is my last resort to be on this platform asking for support. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns that our beyond our control. Now I will look forward to the rainbow at the end of storm.
