My mom has always been a source of kindness and warmth to everyone she meets, whether it’s at Depoe Bay Coffee or through the many friendships she’s made over the years. Recently, she faced a terrifying health crisis—her blood pressure spiked to dangerous levels, and her heart rate dropped alarmingly low. The episode caused severe swelling in her head and left her with memory loss so profound that she didn’t even remember my birthday. It was heartbreaking to see her go through so much pain and confusion, but she’s a fighter and has made it out of the hospital.

Just as we thought things were getting better, she suffered another setback: a significant financial loss. When she told me, it broke my heart. After everything she’s been through, this added stress has made her recovery even more challenging. I want nothing more than to help her get back on her feet and ease some of the burden she’s carrying.
