My name is Morgan, and on June 15th, our lives took an unexpected turn when my mom, Deb, fell down our basement stairs while sleepwalking and suffered a severe neck fracture, and three broken ribs. It was a frightening and surreal moment that none of us could have ever imagined would happen, and thank god that she is still here with us. Thankfully, she didn’t suffer any spinal cord damage, but the fall resulted in a very painful fracture that has made even the simplest daily tasks incredibly difficult. She’s currently in a neck brace 24/7 and facing a long recovery that includes possible surgery, physical therapy, follow-up appointments, and a long time off from work. My mom has always been the most caring, hardworking person I know, and seeing her go through this has been heartbreaking for me and my family. While we’re so grateful she’s alive and healing, the financial strain of medical bills, therapy, and ongoing care is more than our family can manage alone, especially with her out of work.
