Help Save My Mom’s Leg and Life”

My name is Linh, and I live in Massachusetts with my husband and our two young children — a 4-year-old and a 4-month-old baby. Just over two months ago, my mother traveled from Vietnam to visit us after I gave birth. What was meant to be a joyful family reunion quickly turned into a nightmare.

 My mom suddenly became critically ill with a severe leg infection that spread rapidly and led to kidney failure. She was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she has now been for over 15 days. She has undergone multiple surgeries, has been on dialysis, and was placed on a ventilator for several days to support her breathing. Although there was a brief period of stability, my mother’s condition has taken a turn for the worse. Her blood pressure has dropped again, and doctors have had to place her back on a ventilator. The infection in her leg continues to spread, and doctors are now considering amputation as a last resort to save her life. My mother does not have health insurance in the U.S., and the medical expenses are overwhelming for our family. While caring for two small children, I’m doing everything I can to support my mother through this devastating time. We are humbly asking for your help.
