Hurricane Helen devastated my mom’s rental property, leaving it beyond repair. FEMA has deemed it condemned because the cost to fix the damage far exceeds what they consider reasonable. Now, she’s facing a $7,000 demolition bill just to safely tear down what’s left. My mom is retired, and the income from that rental was her only source of financial support. Losing it has been an emotional and financial blow. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t do this alone. If you’re able to give anything, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us.
