I’m reaching out for help for my mom, the sweetest and most selfless person I know.

In 2022, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Only a few months later, in 2023, we learned it had already spread to her bones. Since then, her world and ours has been turned upside down. The cancer has progressed so quickly, and she now lives in severe, constant pain. She has been hospitalized several times over the past couple of months, and today she is beginning hospice care.

Through all of this, my mom has shown unbelievable strength and grace. She is the kind of person who makes everyone feel cared for, who gives endlessly without ever asking for anything in return. Seeing her suffer like this, while still trying to smile for us, is devastating.

We want nothing more than to keep her comfortable, safe, and surrounded by love at home. Hospice will provide essential medical oversight, but it does not cover the extra hands-on caregiving she will need day and night. That additional support, along with the everyday costs of running a household, falls to us, and we simply cannot carry it alone. On top of that, my dad, who has Parkinson’s and dementia, is in a rehab facility due to a recent surgery but still requires care that goes beyond what insurance covers.

This fundraiser will go directly toward:

• Providing in-home caregiving support not covered by hospice or insurance

• Covering comfort items and medical needs hospice does not provide

• Assisting with my dad’s ongoing care needs beyond his rehab facility

• Helping with household expenses so our focus can stay on family and time together

If you knew my mom, you’d know her silliness, her kindness, and the way she always puts others first. She deserves to be cared for with the same love and dignity she has always shown to others.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps lift some of the weight off our shoulders and gives my mom the peace, comfort, and dignity she deserves, while also ensuring my dad has the support he needs. Even the smallest gestures mean so much: send her a message, share a funny or cute picture, or remind her of a good story or memory. These little things bring her joy and remind her of the love that surrounds her.
