Participating in the Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant provided to me by the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is more than just a competition for me, it's an opportunity to represent intelligence, service, and self-confidence in a way that uplifts my community and inspires my little sister. As her role model, I want her to see that young Black women can lead with grace, pursue their passions, and stay grounded in service, even when underrepresented in the platforms she sees every day. I want her to know that our voices matter, that excellence is within her reach, and that she never has to shrink herself to fit a mold. By pursuing opportunities like this, I hope to show her and other young women that representation is powerful and necessary.

My journey so far has included serving as the Mental Health and Wellness Chair for the Junior Class CAB, volunteering with MedShare, and mentoring through The Harlem Girl Project nonprofit. These experiences have taught me the importance of carrying myself with elegance while using my voice to empower others. For me, the Miss Black and Gold title is about more than recognition—it's about creating a lasting impact and opening doors for others who come after me.

The funds I raise will help cover the costs of participating in the pageant, including entry fees, attire, and other essentials. They will also support small events I plan to host on campus to uplift our community and additional photo shoots after the pageant. With the dues deadline approaching on November 21st, your support will make a direct difference in helping me reach my goals and continue serving as a positive example for my sister and others.
