Hi everyone! I am very excited to share that I have joined my schools MEDLIFE chapter to help provide medical assistance and support to poverty-stricken communities in Costa Rica this summer. MEDLIFE partners with local professionals to run free mobile clinics and community development projects for individuals who have limited access to healthcare.

I’ll be working alongside local providers and community members in a way that emphasizes respect, cultural awareness, and empathy. The focus of this trip isn’t to “save” anyone, but to support ongoing, community-led efforts to improve access to care and resources. And as someone studying Psychology with goals of expanding accessible healthcare, this experience means a lot to me. Mental health and overall well-being are deeply connected, and access to healthcare plays a major role in both.

The cost of this trip covers travel, lodging, meals, and materials used in the clinics. As a full-time student, covering these costs on my own is difficult, which is why I’m asking for support. Any amount is appreciated and goes directly toward making this service learning trip possible.
