Hi everyone, my name is Emily Magda, and I’m thrilled to share that this fall, I’ll be starting my Master’s in Art Business at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London!
This opportunity means the world to me — it’s the next big step in my journey toward building a meaningful career in the art world. As someone who is deeply passionate about connecting art, people, and ideas, I’m beyond excited to learn from some of the best in the industry and immerse myself in the global art market right in the heart of London.
That said, pursuing graduate school internationally is a major financial undertaking. Between tuition, visa fees, moving costs, and the high cost of living in London, I’m reaching out to my community to help me bridge the gap and make this dream a reality. I’ve worked incredibly hard to get to this point — securing scholarships, saving, and working multiple jobs — but I still need support to cover the remaining expenses and start this next chapter on solid ground.
I've applied for and received £20,000 ($26,834.70) in both merit- and needs-based scholarships. This amount covers 50% of the total tuition for my year-long program. On a U.K. student visa, I am allowed to work up to 20 hours per week, a big shift from my current schedule of working 50+ hours a week in the U.S. In addition, I will be unable to work for the first month of my arrival in London, as registration, orientation, and an intensive class requires most of my time throughout the month of September. These figures do not include the exorbitant cost of living in London, which consistently ranks in the Top 10 Most Expensive Cities in the World.
If you’re able to contribute or share this page, I’d be so grateful. Every donation — no matter the size — brings me one step closer to this life-changing experience. Thank you so much for believing in me and supporting my dream.
With love and gratitude,
Emily
