So, I'm changing the focus of this fundraiser. It originally was focused on helping me while I was in India learning with my Guru, and the funds I received helped me a lot.

They also helped me to get to where I am now, the island of St. Croix, in the Caribbean Sea. My friend asked me to come here to help her set up a yoga program, which I was excited to do,. Teaching a full Ashtanga program is something I've been doing for over 23 years and I'm good at it.

I gave it six months to be here during which time I'd be making money and saving funds to make my way hopefully to visit my mom in Illinois before flying back to Mysore by the end of September. But there are lots of hinderances here. The place we were working on the program at doesn't seem to attract any new people, so I taught a workshop, two people attended. I taught a weekly class, of which one person came one time to one of the classes. And it doesn't seem like it'll be picking up anytime soon.

There is another very busy yoga studio that I had an introduction with to try and get classes going there, but there seems to be an issue with folks wanting Ashtanga here, plus the yoga teachers have been teaching a while and aren't keen to share with new folks. If I had much more time to be here and get known THEN I could possibly get a class, but not so easily and so soon.

So I was contemplating getting just a regular job, but here there is a bit of a hierarchy in that they'll hire folks who've been here for a while before anyone new, so it seems there's not much money making opportunities and I'm stuck without funding to even leave the island. And no before you ask, it's not a walkable island. There is about 2 places I can walk to from here for lunch or snacks, and that is it. Everything would be walking for over an hour and up and down hills the whole while.

I know, I know, I have asked before and you gave, or not for whatever reason, and that's ok. I'm not begging. But I need help and I'm not afraid to ask for it, so if you have extra and find it in your heart to step up for me, than I'd really appreciate it and be willing to work our some exchange if possible.
