My Journey to the European Taekwon-Do
Championships
For nearly 20 years, Taekwon-Do has been my life — not just as an athlete, but as a coach, mentor, and community leader.
My name is Charles Capones. I began training in Taekwon-Do in 2005 and have been coaching since 2010. Today, I teach in Northfields and Perivale, working with young people and adults across the Ealing borough (London). Through Taekwon-Do, I help build confidence, discipline, and positive direction — especially for young people in our community.
I’ve had the honour of representing the Philippines as a National Team member and captain at international level, and I’ve competed extensively in both the UK and abroad. I’m now incredibly proud to have earned the opportunity to represent ITF England National Team at the European Taekwon-Do Championships in April 2026.
Competing at this level comes with significant costs, including travel, accommodation, competition fees, training preparation, visa processing, and insurance. The total cost is approximately £1,500 — a difficult amount to cover alone as a community-based coach.
Your support would help me step onto the European stage not just for myself, but for my students, my club, and the Ealing community. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to representing grassroots Taekwon-Do at an international level.
