Support my journey with GB Womens Baseball Team

Hi, I'm Saskia,

I’m so excited to announce that I’ve been selected to represent Great Britain at the Women’s European Baseball Championships this August! ⚾️

Putting on a GB jersey is something I never imagined a year ago. It’s a huge honour and being part of this amazing team is something I’m truly proud of.

Here’s how it all started:

Around this time last year, a friend encouraged me to give baseball a shot. I went along to an event hosted by the GB Women’s Team, aimed to get more women into the sport. Watching the players, their energy and their passion inspired me and although I was completely new to baseball, I had some confidence from my background in softball and decided to go for it!

From that event, I was invited to train with the GB team over the winter. I also started training with the Cardiff Baseball team (who have been incredibly supportive) and have since played for the Cardiff Merlins and the South West Serpents. After months of training, learning and competing, I’m beyond proud to officially join the GB Women’s Team as we head to the European Championships in the Czech Republic this summer.

We’ll be competing against the best in Europe, all fighting for a place at the 2026 Womens World Baseball Classic.

This is a completely self-funded trip and I need to raise £1,400 to cover everything from flights and accommodation to food, kit, and training camps. I’m doing my best to cover as much as I can, but I’m also reaching out to my friends, family and anyone who might be willing to support me.
