In a little over a month, I’ll be heading to New Zealand to attend a YWAM school called Word By Heart and I couldn’t be more excited!
To help make this happen, I’m raising the final $3,000 I need for tuition and flights. To support that, I’ve partnered again with my sweet friends Sarah McKay to print T-shirts and Grace Grow to help with the design! (Because who doesn’t love a new T-shirt)
The verse found on the shirt is one that God has been putting on my heart over and over these past few months. In Jeremiah 15, the prophet is complaining to God through seasons of deep hardship. He says:
“Your words were found, and I ate them, and they became to me the joy and delight of my heart, for I am called by your name.”
But right after that, Jeremiah accuses God, saying:
“Truly you are to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail.”
Yet God, in His mercy, responds:
“If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth.”
This verse has met me in my own wrestling, reminding me that His Word is joy and delight, even when life feels hard or confusing, even in seasons of loss and grief, even when He leads me away from the people I love for a time. I don’t ever want to praise God one moment and, in the next, accuse Him of being absent or unfaithful. I want my lips to speak what is precious, not what is worthless. That’s the heart behind this design. I also found it fitting since I’ll literally be doing a school called Word By Heart!
If you’d like to support my journey (or just want a super cool shirt!), I’d be so grateful.
