Support My Journey to Walk Again. Grade 3 Avulsion Injury.

Hey guys. It’s Dorothy but many of you know me by Ticia or DolphinFly. Unfortunately, I had an accident on February 14, 2025. I slipped and fell on some ice, both of my legs went in opposite directions and I heard something snap. I couldn’t move, couldn’t crawl nothing. It was 17 degrees that day and I laid in the snow for 45 minutes yelling for help almost at the point of hypothermia. Then out of nowhere a lady pulled over asking if I needed help, covered me with her coat as I laid there crying and called the ambulance for me. I thought I was paralyzed. They did EKG’s, Ultrasounds, Cat Scan, Pulmonary Embolism, X-Rays and MRI. Three of my muscles completely came off of the bone on my hamstring and detached from the femur and pelvic, which also caused my sciatic nerve and tailbone to be exposed. It’s mentally taking a toll on me because I’m use to my independence. I’ve been on bed rest for 2 months now, waiting for the scar tissues and ligaments to heal. I’m not able to walk, drive or work at the moment.And I still have 5 more months of recovery time to go. I’m still in excruciating pain, and taking 12 medications on top of my Epilepsy. So, I can’t start physical therapy until mid-April. My surgeon said that my recovery time, at a minimum, is expected to be anywhere from 4-6 months and I’m only 2 months in. As I await my disability pay to take effect, I really could use your help and support to be able to get the things I need that insurance didn’t cover. I have all the DME equipment I need (wheelchair, walker, doughnut pillow, forearm crutches, shoulder crutches, leg compressors, rollator, bed pans etc..) so it would be for basic necessities, over the counter meds, other needed supplies for comfort and pain, phone my only means of communication, toiletries, ice packs, foam wedges, sciatica nerve pillow and massager, muscle builder meds, food, a few bills, gel cushion for tailbone, and a few other medical supplies that I wasn’t able to get on my Amazon Wish List …I want to Thank each and every one of you in advance if you’re able to donate.
