Support My Journey to Vienna for Impulstanz

Donation protected
I’m raising $4,260 to attend the Impulstanz Festival in Vienna, Austria, to further develop my artistic practice using dance as a tool for community engagement, expression, and social impact.

I am a multidisciplinary dance artist and community advocate dedicated to using movement as a tool for transformation, empowerment, and social change. My work focuses on creating supportive, truthful, and expressive spaces where art meets impact, especially for underserved communities.

I am the Founder and Artistic Director of Ehmi Khid Art and Youth Empowerment Foundation, where I lead projects that use dance as a means of education, outreach, and lasting change.

Over the years, I have collaborated with organizations and creatives across Africa and beyond, including Krump Studios, Capital Dancers, the U.S. Embassy, Battery Dance Company, Oakbridge Foundation, The Zoe Dance Academy, Steeze Afrika, The Cell Concept, Association Vodoovi, Hearts Heartist, Anikaya Inc., JAM Initiative, and Ladji Kone, all working toward empowering communities through art.

My Journey
There are moments in life when everything you’ve been working toward opens into something bigger than you imagined. This is one of those moments for me.

I have been selected for the Impulstanz Festival in Vienna under the danceWEB Scholarship Programme, a globally recognized platform for dancers and choreographers.

This is my third time being selected.
  • 2023: Selected but could not attend due to financial constraints
  • 2024: Selected again, secured some support, but my visa was denied
  • 2025: Took a step back and invested in a research project centered on the African Child, continuing to grow my work
  • In 2026, I tried again. I was selected again.

I truly believe this is the year. I am doing my best and leaving the rest in God’s hands.

For me, as a Nigerian contemporary dance artist, this opportunity means more than travel or training. It is a chance to grow, connect globally, and carry my voice and community into an international space.

Financial Breakdown
The full program fee is $8080. Through the danceWEB Scholarship, $5195 has already been covered.

To secure my place, I need to raise $2885, plus:
  • Visa fee: $105
  • Travel Insurance: $115
  • Flight ticket: $1155
Total: $4260

Why Your Support Matters
Coming from a place where access to opportunities like this is limited, I have always relied on faith, resilience, and community. I believe in dance as a language that connects, heals, and tells our stories.

By supporting me, you are helping:
  • Represent African lived realities on a global contemporary dance stage
  • Bring knowledge back home through workshops, performances, and community engagement
  • Support an artist committed to truth, storytelling, and impact

No amount is too small. Every contribution brings me closer to a moment I have been working toward for years.

Thank you for believing in my journey, standing with me through both the highs and the setbacks, and being part of this story.

With gratitude,
Ehmi Khid Emmanuel Anosike
