Support My Journey to the U24 Ultimate Frisbee Worlds!

I’m María José Gacharna, I’m 22 years old, and I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. I currently live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I’m studying Sociology and Environmental Science.

Three and a half years ago, I discovered ultimate frisbee at university, and since then, it has become a fundamental part of my life. What started as a new recreational activity quickly turned into a passion that has allowed me to grow both as a person and as an athlete. Today, with great excitement and pride, I can share that I have been selected to represent my country, Colombia, at the Under-24 World Ultimate Frisbee Championship, which will take place this June in Logroño, Spain.

Unfortunately, ultimate frisbee does not receive much visibility, and the government does not provide us with financial support to cover the costs of this trip. That’s why I am reaching out to anyone who would like to contribute, even in a small way, to help me raise the necessary funds and make my dream of representing Colombia come true.

¡Hola! Soy María José Gacharna, tengo 22 años y nací en Bogotá, Colombia. Actualmente vivo en Fort Lauderdale, Florida, donde estoy estudiando Sociología y Ciencias Ambientales.

Hace tres años y medio, conocí el ultimate frisbee en la universidad, y desde entonces ha sido una parte fundamental de mi vida. Lo que comenzó como una nueva actividad recreativa, rápidamente se convirtió en una pasión que me ha permitido crecer tanto como persona como deportista. Hoy, con mucha emoción y orgullo, puedo compartir que fui seleccionada para representar a mi país, Colombia, en el Mundial Sub-24 de Ultimate Frisbee que se llevará a cabo este junio en Logroño, España.

Desafortunadamente el ultímate frisbee no tiene mucha visibilidad y el gobierno no nos brinda apoyo para poder costear dicho viaje. Por eso quiero acudir a todos aquellos que quieran contribuir con un granito de arena para ayudarme a conseguir los recursos y así cumplir mi sueño de representar a Colombia.

Cualquier contribución, por pequeña que sea, me acercará un paso más a lograr este sueño.
