Support My Journey to the Ivy League

Hello all!

This year, because of my academic background and achievements, I was offered a spot to apply for the Watsonville Ivy League Project (WILP). WILP is a very reputable organization focused on helping ambitious and highly driven students explore and visit some of the top Ivy League schools in the country.

The primary objective of WILP is to inform these students about prestigious Ivy Leagues so that we may apply to them in our senior year. On the trip to the East Coast, I will get a chance to learn about admission processes, talk to some of the Deans, and get a better feel for campus communities.

This year’s WILP group of 2026 has already started our monthly meetings where we discuss the trip and fundraising ideas. It is very exciting to build a community with other top-performing students and watch our hard work transform into something greater.

Although I have already been accepted into the Watsonville Ivy League Project, in order to attend my journey to the East Coast, I need to raise a minimum of $3,700. With your support, I can explore greater opportunities to achieve future endeavors.

Heres a list of schools we will be visiting:
  • Yale
  • Cornell
  • Brown
  • UPenn
  • Harvard
  • Columbia
  • MIT
  • Boston College
  • Princeton
We also might sneak in a Broadway Performance!

About WILP’s Application Process:

I am one of 13 students from two different schools that got accepted into WILP. The program is very selective and is only looking for students who are exceeding expectations. In order to be able to apply, you must have a gpa of at least 3.75, grades of all A’s or B’s, and be in one AP and one Honors class.
The application process was similar to applying to any college. I filled out the application, submitted two personal essays, acquired one teacher recommendation, and finally got interviewed by an academic committee. It was a challenging and pressure-filled process.

About Me:

My name is Emmy Sanchez and I am a sophomore at Watsonville High School. I was born and raised in Watsonville, California. I’ve always had the drive to do well in school, which led me to achieve great success. Some of my accomplishments include a Student of the Year award and Honor Roll awards throughout all quarters of high school. I am also an active member in the Watsonville FFA. I participated in the Watsonville High Swim Team and I plan on doing it all 4 years of high school. I am on the right track to a successful future. From a young age I knew I wanted to be a doctor. All I want to do is help people and be able to give back to the community that I came from. By going on this adventure, I will explore greater opportunities and make connections that will then build the foundation for my future. Thank you for your consideration any form of donation will help.
