Dear friends and family, I find myself in a difficult situation. I am in need of a lung transplant to save my life. I was recently diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, the very same disease my mother passed away from. I had no idea it was hereditary. It started with a persistent cough that never went away. Then the shortness of breath started. Diagnosis came soon after. I’m told it was caught early, I still have a chance to live a full life, if I get a lung transplant.
The cost of a lung transplant is astronomical, it does not include my living expenses, medical bills, recovery and travel. I will have to relocate to Houston for 6 months to a year, to be near the hospital. I am a single woman who works as a commission hairstylist. I find myself missing more and more work as the disease progresses. Traveling to Houston from Austin once a month is costly.
I can’t do it on my own. It’s always been very difficult for me to ask for help, but here I am. Asking for help. Whatever you can give, would be a God send! I’m also asking for prayer as i navigate this journey of recovery.
