Hi, my name is Maria Eduarda Lopes, and I’m reaching out with the hope of some support. I’ve signed up for two trips that mean so much to me! One is to New York with the Visual and Performing Arts Program at my school in December 2025, and the other is to Italy with my school in February 2026. I’m doing everything I can to make them happen.

Growing up, my father struggled with alcohol, and it deeply affected our family. Because of his issues, I had to miss my school’s last trip to New York, something I had looked forward to for so long. He eventually moved to Brazil, and since then, my mother has been raising my sister and me on her own. She’s an incredible single mom, doing her best every day, and my sister and I have been trying to support her and become more independent. But things haven’t been easy. I now work two jobs to support myself and help pay for these opportunities, which together cost about $5,000. I’ve already saved a big portion through hard work and dedication, but I’m still short, which is why I’m asking for $3,000 to help close the gap and finally make this dream possible.

This year, I’ve completed a mental health program and have been working hard to turn over a new leaf mentally, emotionally, and academically. I’m focused on improving my grades, relationships, and overall mindset, and these trips would be a powerful part of that journey, giving me the chance to grow, discover more about myself, and feel inspired in ways I’ve never had access to before. This kind of travel isn’t something I can afford regularly, and I don’t take this opportunity lightly. I would be incredibly grateful for any support, whether it’s a donation or just sharing my story. Thank you so much for reading and potentially helping me move one step closer to this dream.
