Support My Journey to Gender Euphoria

Hello and thank you for being here!
My name is Em and I’m a nonbinary moose scout! I’m having top surgery on April 2nd to help me feel safe and secure in my body.
Up until a couple months ago, I had health insurance that would cover most of the costs of this surgery. Unfortunately I was laid off from my job and thus lost my health insurance.
On the last day of my health care coverage, I was diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease. The treatment for this has made it difficult for me to secure a new job.
My application for Medicaid was denied last week and now the deadline for being able to use health insurance to help cover the costs of my surgery has passed.
I just received my estimate from my surgeon and it is $8,150. I have $2,000 in savings and have already raised $2,105 via donations from my friends. I have applied to some grants but have not heard back yet.
In addition to the surgery costs, I will be traveling from out of state and require funds for flights, lodging, food, etc.
As such, I am trying to raise $6,000.
It’s a very scary time to be queer and especially to not be cisgender. I have been planning for this surgery for over 2 years and will not let these setbacks, nor the current administration, keep me from achieving gender euphoria and the peace I so desperately need.
I am so grateful for anything you may have to offer, even if it’s just sharing my story with others ❤️ much love!
