Overcoming Setbacks: My Journey to Compete at Fargo
Donation protected
I am raising funds to support my journey to the high school wrestling tournament in Fargo, North Dakota. This opportunity is crucial for me as I prepare to start wrestling at the Division 2 level in college next year. Participating in this tournament will provide me with valuable experience competing at a higher level, which is essential for my growth and development in the sport.
I began wrestling just last year and faced challenges due to an injury that held me back. Despite this setback, I dedicated my off-season to practicing and competing with the Southside Wrestling Club, which significantly improved my skills. Unfortunately, my senior season was cut short when I dislocated my elbow at the George Bossi Lowell Holiday Tournament. This injury sidelined me for the entire season, but I was finally cleared to compete again in March.
In the last two tournaments of the season, I placed 6th at the Queen of the Mat, winning 2 out of 4 matches, and won 4 out of 6 matches at the Connecticut State Tournament. Although I was cautious about re-injuring my arm, my improvement was evident. Competing at Fargo has always been a dream of mine, and now I have the chance to make it a reality. Your support will help cover travel expenses and other fees related to the tournament, allowing me to focus on achieving my goals and showcasing my passion for wrestling.
