If you are reading this, it’s because you are a family member or a part of my friend group! I am going to assume that you know about the struggles with my eye sight, which has been a part of my journey, for most of my life. I have been wearing glasses since I was probably 2 years old. I am legally blind without my glasses, and can’t drive at night (doctor’s orders). Last week I had an appointment at the Cataract & Laser Institute, in Indiana , where it was confirmed that I have cataracts in both eyes and surgery is needed sooner then later. I was also told that a correction of my vision from a -14 to a -2.5 could also be done at the same time, this would be a game changer for me! My insurance will cover most of the cataract surgery, however not the correction of my vision. I am praying and hoping that you my family and my friends could pray about this and ask God to make this miracle happen. I am also wondering if you would consider being a part of this journey with your financial support? I am currently dealing with very blurred vision in my left eye, the best way that I can explain this, is to have you look at the cover of the Lake Union Herald which ironically was in my mail box today, and might be in yours too! I actually had a family member confrim that the cover was really blurred. If this isn’t a sign then I don’t know how much clearer it can get. Any money over the $5,000 received will be used for medication and follow up appointments. Surgery on the left eye is scheduled for April 14 and April 21 for the right eye(providing funds have been raised).
