Support My Journey to Bring Public Health into Politics
Nurses belong in policy. Public health belongs in politics.
I’m a public health nurse, and instructor, deeply committed to ensuring health and education go hand in hand to build stronger communities. As a first-generation Latina and public health leader, I’ve spent my career fighting for health equity, educational access, and policies that support children and families.
But advocacy alone isn’t enough, we need leaders who understand the deep connection between health and education in decision-making spaces. That’s why I’m honored to share that I’ve been accepted into the Healing Politics 2025 Campaign School, where I’ll gain the tools to run for office and lead systemic change. I’m headed to North Carolina this week!
Why This Matters
The health of our communities is shaped by the policies we create. Yet too few decision-makers understand the realities of public health. That must change.
•	As a public health nurse, I see how the determinants of health impact our most vulnerable populations.
•	Children and families can’t thrive if their health needs go unmet.
•	Nurses witness the barriers to health equity, and we know the solutions. We deserve a seat at the table.
How You Can Help
Attending this program is a critical first step toward bringing my public health expertise into the political arena. As part of the program, I’m required to fundraise to help cover the cost.
Your donation of $50—or whatever you feel comfortable giving—will help me take the next step and meet this requirement for the program.
Share this page to help spread the word.
This is bigger than me. It’s about ensuring public health and education are priorities in politics, that diverse voices are represented, and that we build a more just, healthy future for all.
With your support, I’ll be ready for politics—in some capacity—for the future.
Thank you for being part of this movement!
