Thank you to everyone supporting me through this, I really appreciate it! I am now done with all 3 surgeries and will be starting to recover and build myself up again. Thank you so much!
Total from all three surgeries they took out 10,6l fat. There is barely anything left of me so im really hoping this will be a huge change for the better.
Updates from surgery 1 & 2 is at the bottom
Hi, my name is Line (Seabii), and this past year has been weird, confusing and painful.
Until recently, I truly believed the pain was my own fault.
I have blamed myself for being out of shape, for being “lazy”, and not pushing through the discomfort. But no matter how much I walked, exercised, or rested, the pain just got worse. Everyday things like walking through the city, being at work, or going on a hike will leave my legs throbbing in pain. Even walking up the stairs will make me out of breath and tired.
Through these past years my body have gained weight, but most of it have accumulated at the hips, causing growth scars. My body is very unproportional, but I thought maybe that's just my body shape and that's where my fat goes.
My body all of a sudden would be weirdly painful to touch. I would scratch an itch and would be left with this intense burning pain that lasted a minute. Just the simple touch, pinch or scratch gave me this intense pain. I told my parents about it and we were all just confused as to why that suddenly started happening.
This photo is from my last hike, a moment that should’ve brought me joy and peace. But behind the smile, I was in agony. That night, I couldn’t sleep from the pain. When I woke up I was unable to walk properly.
Eventually, I got answers.
I was diagnosed with Lipedema, stage 1, type 3, a chronic, progressive condition where painful fat accumulates primarily in the legs and hips. It’s not caused by diet or inactivity. It cannot be fixed with weight loss or exercise. Without treatment it only gets worse.
In Norway, Lipedema is still not officially recognized as a medical diagnosis. That means none of the necessary treatments, specialist consultations, compression garments, or surgery are covered by public healthcare. It’s up to you as the patient to pay everything out of pocket.
Even worse, many doctors and professionals still don’t understand the condition, often mistaking it for “just weight gain” or shaming patients instead of helping them. The first doctor I went to couldn't give me an answer and told me to maybe go work out my legs or something.
Lipedema takes away your ability to move, to rest comfortably and to live freely in your body.
I’ve been told I will need three surgeries to slow the progression, reduce the pain, and help me stay mobile and independent.
Each surgery costs 73,000 kr ($7,168 USD). I will also need specialized compression garments costing several thousand kroner, and each operation requires at least six weeks of recovery.
Thankfully I’m able to pay for the first surgery myself. But I can' afford the next two on my own.
How your support will help:
73,000 kr ($7,168) – Surgery #2 (front of the thighs) DONE :D
73,000 kr ($7,168) – Surgery #3 (back of the thighs and buttocks)
5,000–10,000 kr ($490–$981) – Compression garments
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading my story. For considering a donation. Even just sharing this page means the world.
If you’d like to learn more about Lipedema, please do. It’s a condition that affects many, and often goes unseen.
With deep gratitude and love,
Line (Seabii) ♡

Update - First surgery(legs)
I am now done with my first Lipedema surgery, on both my lower legs. The surgeon updated my diagnose from a grade 1 to a grade 2 after the operation. My lipedema had progressed more than he thought when he first looked and touched my legs on my consultation prior this summer. It dosn't have any affect really, just interesting to know that it was worse lol
He removed 1 liter fat from EACH leg(2liter total) more than me and the surgeon thought would get removed. So my legs are so skinny now!! It's so weird to look at.
Picture nr2 is after he finished with one leg, so you can see the difference in before and after
And the containers is all the fat they removed(the orange) and blood+the fluid they used to clean out all the fat(the red)
I am now 2.5weeks after surgery day and I am now able to walk without pain and discomfort. It it still painful to stand still for too long.
Update - second surgery(front thighs)
Surgeon removed 3.1 liter from each leg, total 6.2 liter fat removed. They were surprised by how much came out of my relatively small body.
But then the nurse managed to put me in the wrong compression leggings... and didn't know I needed to fix that right away when I noticed. So when surgeon came this morning, he told me that needed changing ASAP. Got help by 2 nurses to take off the wrong one and put on the right one + a 2nd on top. But because of this clothing change I started bleeding like crazy from my right thigh and got an extra bandage on top.
This hurt like a b**** cus they were not as gentle as me taking on the compression leggings.
The night after surgery i had pain much worse than my first surgery, i don't often cry from pain, but at that moment i did. I am doing better now! I was also super dizzy and was getting much water through tube.
Walking is doable(without bending my knees lol), but sitting down and lifting myself up is super painful. I'm bruised up even further than the area that was worked on.
Before and after ^
The fat they stole from me^
When changing from the wrong to the right compression ^ plus my extra bandage to stop the bleeding.
