It took a lot for me to find the courage to tell my story, but I am finally ready to share it.
I’ve lived with asthma for most of my life. At just 17 years old, I was diagnosed with a serious lung disease and told I wouldn’t live past 21. But I kept fighting.
After getting COVID twice, my lungs became too damaged to breathe on their own. For the past three years, I’ve relied on oxygen tanks and tubing while doing everything possible to regain my independence and hold on to hope.
After a long, painful, and emotional transplant evaluation, I was approved and placed on the lung transplant waiting list. Everything is now moving very fast.
A lung transplant brings fear, hope, and overwhelming costs—medical bills, medications, travel, housing near the hospital, and recovery expenses after surgery. Any support will help cover these costs so I can focus on what matters most: healing and surviving.
I am fighting for my life and for the chance to breathe freely again. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for sharing it, and for supporting me in any way you can.
