Hello, and if you're here, I want to start off by saying THANK YOU. I have been a type 1 diabetic since I was 10 months old and I am currently in stage 4 of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Because of this, I am in need of a double transplant, a kidney and a pancreas. The closest transplant clinic is still 4.5 hours away, in New Orleans. I am on a fixed income (SSDI) and this trip will require 2 nights in a hotel, plus travel expenses and food. I am going to be documenting the journey and asking for support along the way.
