Hi everyone,
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into the 7th cohort of the Lyndon B. Johnson Women’s Campaign School at the University of Texas at Austin, one of the nation’s most competitive leadership programs for women in politics.
As a child, I checked out the same book about Dr. Martin Luther King, and it taught me two truths: leadership is service, and education opens doors. Those lessons have guided my life and my work.
My "why" is rooted in deep personal experience, having observed my mother’s resilience while raising me at the young age of 14, as well as witnessing my father’s struggles with addiction and mental health challenges. These experiences have taught me important lessons about unconditional love, empathy, and compassion while also highlighting the importance of improving support systems for children and families like mine.
Over the next few months, I will complete an intensive, hands-on curriculum in campaign strategy, fundraising, communications, voter outreach, compliance, and leadership. Taught by seasoned campaign professionals, elected officials, and media experts, the LBJ Women’s Campaign School provides practical tools, a campaign-ready plan, and access to a powerful mentorship and alumni network that helps women launch campaigns and step into leadership.
I’m ready to scale my impact and turn lived experience and proven program leadership into policy and systems change that expand access to education, mental health, and family supports across our community. Your support will fund my attendance at LBJ Women’s Campaign School and equip me with the skills and network to fight for those changes.
I’m currently working to raise $2200 to help cover tuition and related expenses. Please consider donating any amount and sharing my fundraiser as my work today, tomorrow, and in the future will always be to "Transform Lives and Strengthen Our Communities."
With gratitude,
Victoria
