My name is Cait. I am asking for help during one of the most painful times in my life. My grandad, who was also a father figure to me, passed away unexpectedly early hours of December 9th.

Because this was so sudden, I will have to take unpaid leave from work and cover the cost of last-minute international travel to the UK.

My grandad was the light of my life. My mum and I lived with my grandparents during the very first years of my life, and I spent every weekend with them growing up. When I was going through difficult times, they opened their home to me again for my last teenage years.

Grandad is the reason for many of my core memories, my sense of adventure, love for music, food, and so much more. He let me shadow him at work and even took me to prom. I would not be the person I am today without him.
