My Story Thus Far: The Test of Resilience
In December of 2024, I reached a massive milestone: graduating from Massage Therapy school after two years years of dedication and intense study full time--a period where I couldn't work and poured every ounce of energy into my craft.
In January 2025, I faced a turning point I never expected: I was evicted from my apartment in New York City. The sudden navigation of highest of highs and lowest of lows. New graduate trying to find my footing in this new world I created while simultaneously finding avenues to find a place to live. It was a humbling and difficult moment, but it also revealed the incredible kindness of the people around me. For the past year, I’ve been living in a friend's spare bedroom—a gift of time and stability that has allowed me to get back on my feet and work toward a future that feels aligned with my soul.
As my time in New York comes to an end, I’ve realized I’m at a crossroads. I could go back to what’s comfortable in California, but I know deep down to the depths of my core that I am meant for a different kind of growth. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist with a deep-seated wanderlust and a desire to evolve. Despite my love for this work, I have never left the country—and I feel it in my spirit that now is the time to change that.
The Mission: Mastering Thai Massage
My dream is to spend the next year living in Thailand to immerse myself in the birthplace of Thai Massage. This isn't just a vacation; it’s a professional pilgrimage. I want to study under the masters, refine my skills, and bring a new level of healing and expertise back to my practice.
To make this a reality, I’ve been working as many hours as physically possible, often pushing toward burnout to save every penny while managing my daily bills and student loans.
The Goal
To qualify for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and live sustainably for a year of study, I need to reach a specific financial threshold.
• The Requirement: I need to show at least $15k in savings held for 3–4 months to meet visa qualifications.
• Where I Am: I have successfully saved $11k on my own through hard work and discipline.
• The Target: I am seeking to raise $9,000 to reach my $20k goal.
