Hello Family, Friends, and all donors,
I have been playing flag football for three and a half years now. I have always played the fall and spring season in the NFL sanctioned Flag league . My friend and I were often the only girls on our former coed teams. We are “aging out” of our former league, as 8th is the oldest grade allowed in that league. I needed to find a program that takes older teens, and a program that is challenging.
Girls flag football is growing fast. MN GRIND is a competitive organization that has competed on the National circuit since 2021. The program emphasizes skill development, football IQ, speed and agility, and building a strong sense of community. From learning the fundamentals to competing in tournaments, they focus on building confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the game.
My friend and I went to tryouts for GRIND. The other females athletes there were so good, and I am super happy to be one of the chosen athletes to be on the team.
This program is expensive and professional. We practice at Augsburg College. Most high schools do not offer girls flag football, and in preparation for a potential high school team and college in the future, I want to stay active in this sport and am hoping it will earn me a college scholarship in the future.
So I am asking for financial support to help me reach my goal of continuing to learn and an xcel in my sport, and ultimately gaining enough experience, to earn a scholarship for college.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
- Freya
