I’m currently navigating a major life transition—staying dedicated to my recovery, managing my household, and getting back to work at a shop I know and love. To make this "new-old" job a success, I need to get my primary mode of transportation (my bike) back in working order and finalize my professional credentials.
The Details:
As many of you know, I am a professional body piercer here in New Orleans. I’ve recently been given the opportunity to return to a former workplace, which is a huge step forward in stabilizing my life and my independence. However, there are a few costs standing in the way of me getting back to the piercing chair:
• Transportation: My bike is currently out of commission. In this city, it’s my lifeline for getting to and from work reliably.
• Safety Certifications: To practice legally and safely, I need to renew my CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Professional Licensing: Once the certifications are in hand, I need to cover the state licensing fees to officially get back to work.
Why This Matters:
I’ve been through the ringer lately— finishing rehab, adjusting to my life, and starting my sobriety journey. Getting back to work isn't just about a paycheck; it's about reclaiming my identity as a piercer and maintaining the stability I’ve worked so hard.
I’m not great at asking for help but any contribution to help me cover these start-up costs would mean the world.
If you can’t donate, a share is just as appreciated. Thanks for helping me get back on the road—literally and figuratively! ANYBODY WHO DONATES AND DECIDES TO SEE ME A DISCOUNT.
