Hello everyone,
My name is Nye’Dra Holmes, and I am a second-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student at Florida State University, set to graduate in May 2026. I am passionate about working with justice-involved youth and young adults up to age 21, and my ultimate goal is to create positive pathways for young people facing challenges in the justice system.
I am honored and grateful to share that I have been selected as 1 of only 12 students accepted this year to participate in Florida State University’s Alternative Spring Break program in Grenada! During this service trip, I will work alongside community partners to address issues related to child welfare, education, and mental health. This opportunity will not only allow me to serve but also expand my knowledge of how different cultures support youth and families a perspective I know will help me become a stronger social worker.
The total cost of the trip is $1,985, plus my round-trip flight of approximately $850. As a graduate student, I would greatly appreciate any support you can provide to help me make this experience possible. Your donation will directly cover my program fee and travel expenses.
This trip means so much to me because it connects directly to my mission of supporting vulnerable youth populations. By contributing, you’re not just helping me you’re helping me gain the skills and experiences I need to serve future generations of young people.
Thank you so much for considering a donation or even just sharing my fundraiser. Every bit of support helps me get one step closer to making an impact in Grenada and beyond.
With gratitude,
Nye’Dra Holmes
