Help Me Intern Abroad in Melbourne, Australia!

Hi everyone! My name is Yauri Hatcher, and I’m a proud first-year student at Appalachian State University, majoring in International Business with a minor in Spanish. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into a competitive 8-week full-time internship program in Melbourne, Australia from June 16 to August 8, 2025, where I’ll be working 28–35 hours per week as an Events & Marketing Assistant at CARE, a globally respected nonprofit organization.

CARE is an NGO that supports women around the world to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice. They work directly with local communities to ensure women have equal access to income, education, and leadership opportunities, especially in regions impacted by climate disasters and ongoing crises. Their mission resonates deeply with me, not just as a student, but as a young Black woman who is deeply passionate about equity, service, and global empowerment.

This internship aligns perfectly with my career goals. As an International Business major, I hope to work in spaces that elevate underrepresented voices and promote sustainable global impact. Getting hands-on experience with a mission-driven organization like CARE will be truly life-changing.

What the Funds Will Cover

Although I’ve received some scholarship support, the remaining costs are still significant. I’m raising funds to cover:

Remaining Program Fee Balance: $3,652.50

Round-trip Airfare to Melbourne: ~$1,250

Visa Fee: ~$427

Housing, Transportation, & Meals (8 weeks): ~$2,050

Local Expenses & Emergency Funds: ~$200

Total Goal: $7,500

Every single donation, no matter the size, will directly support my opportunity to grow academically, professionally, and personally on a global scale.
