Support My Husband’s Surgery Costs After a Serious accident
Donation protected
Just a month ago, my husband and I celebrated our wedding. We sold everything we had in our home country to come to Canada, full of hope, as international student, ready to build a sweet life together. To cover our basic living costs, my husband started working for Uber Eats using an electric scooter, since we couldn’t afford a car. On April 30th, while he was trying to pick up a delivery order, he hit a pothole and was seriously injured in a crash. Bystanders quickly helped and an ambulance rushed him to the hospital. We were devastated to learn that he had suffered a femur fracture, and urgent surgery was needed. As new arrivals, I came on a student visa, and unfortunately, my husband hadn’t yet obtained private health insurance due to our financial limitations. The cost of the surgery and hospitalization is overwhelming estimated between $30,000 and $60,000. In addition to this, we are responsible for expensive international tuition fees. This unexpected accident has turned our lives upside down and placed a tremendous financial burden on us. We’re alone here, with no family or support system. We never imagined that right after our wedding, instead of beginning our sweet life together, we’d be facing such a bitter backbreaking medical emergency. We are doing our best to stay strong but we truly need your support. Any donation, no matter how small, will bring us closer to healing and stability. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness.
